Concept: Eternity of the Soul

"According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world"

A primary difference between our views and traditional Christianity is that we believe the soul is eternal.

Most Christians believe the soul is created at birth, and then either goes on eternally or is destroyed.

The soul is the only thing the Bible says will be saved.

The question is from what and to what.

The answer is from our iniquities which are death....to oneness with God which is Life.

What is the difference between your physical body and your soul?

The soul is your essence...your awareness, the real you, the part that gets saved.

The physical body is flesh and bone that decays in the grave.

If something is eternal, then it by definition has no beginning point or no ending point.
Something eternal is not made from nothing into a forever existence.

Even the earth is not eternal.

The question is whether the soul is created or it always existed.
Existence is a different question from Life or Death in the context of salvation.
Spiritual death is to be carnally-minded and and spiritual life is to be one with Christ.
The question of existence is another matter.
A being can exist but not be one with Christ.
If that is true, then that being exists in the domain of darkness, i.e., death.

Revelation says Satan will be cast into the lake of fire where he will be tormented forever and ever.

So Satan is eternal but is not dead literally, only spiritually in that he is separated from God.
In other words if Satan and all men (souls) who are damned...are all cast into the lake of fire forever,
and all saved men (souls) go to heaven eternally, then, by simple deduction....all souls are eternal.

This raises new questions.
1. Can a soul be created and become eternal?

No, eternal entities are neither created nor destroyed. They exist forever.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods John 10:34

2. What's the difference between eternal life and eternal death?

   Ezek 18:20
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity
of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the
righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the
wicked shall be upon him.
KJV

This verse infers that the soul can die. But does it mean Physically or spiritually?

This verses does not prove that the soul ceases to exist. Only that it experiences death- but is that spiritual death?

Paul said he "dies daily". Did he mean he died physically or spiritually?

When a soul that sins comes under the law it dies spiritually.

And if that soul does not come to Christ, it exists eternally without God's Life.

The law of spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. RO 8:2

And if Christ be in you, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. RO 8:10

How about all those condemned souls that go on eternally in damnation?

Are they eternally dead without existence or do they exist?

Mr 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

Do these souls exist during their eternal damnation? Are they alive or dead?

Of course, they do not have the life of God, so for all purposes they are dead SPIRITUALLY.

Does a saved man die physically. YES .....does his soul LIVE eternally with God... YES

Does an unsaved man die, YES....does his soul LIVE eternally NO....does it exist YES...but it exists in spiritual darkness and death.

The soul exists eternally.

It exists eternally either in the light of Love or eternally in separation and darkness.

The soul exists.... the choice of salvation is Eternal Life or Eternal death.

Anything eternal has no beginning or ending.

It just exists. It just IS.

That means not only do we go on eternally after this life, but also

We existed prior to this earthly journey.

Is it really so hard to conceive that the soul may have existed prior to entering this world?

That you journeyed here without prior awareness?

Could it be that your former memory of existence is suspended during this life experience?

Can you even remember anything from when you were two years old?

Is it any less hard to believe that your soul may have entered your body at birth than that birthing a physical body created and eternal soul?

If your soul leaves your body at death, might it not enter your body at birth?

The Bible really is not clear on this topic. It says very little about existence prior to this world or the existence in the hereafter.

Christian doctrines have become so accepted that they are no longer even questioned. That must change

You will never find scripture that says the soul ceases to exist.

Nor will you find any that says your soul did not exist before coming to the earth.

What you will find is that the soul is what gets saved,

and that it exists in eternity.

The soul is Eternal
